In
the year 2000, McClave Engineering PC formed a joint venture with
Turner Construction Management. The joint venture has created a
dynamic company that can manage a verity of construction disciplines.
Currently McClave/Turner CM is managing the 142 million dollar Smithtown
Central School District (SCSD) 2000 bond issue. The scope of this
management project covers many facets of both new construction and
the renovation of existing buildings.
Projects
completed to date:
- 2000:
Managed the installation of a new fiber optic wide area network
linking 16 schools and three management facilities.
- 2000:
Managed the installation of six portable classrooms.
- 2001-2003:
Managed 85,000 SF of the new construction.
- 2001-2003:
Managed 15,800 SF of renovation to existing SCSD facilities.
- 2001-2003:
Managed the installation of nine new transformers.
- 2001-2003:
Managed the installation of a local fiber optic network within
nine elementary schools.
All
of the above projects came in on time, and within the budget constraints
set forth by the SCSD.
Current
Projects:
- 2003-August
2004: Managing 35,000 SF of new construction.
- 2003-August
2004: Managing 20,000 SF of renovation to existing SCSD facilities.
- 2003-August
2004: Managing the installation of a local fiber optic network
within three middle schools.
All
projects are currently on schedule and will be occupied by the school
district in August 2004
