The
Connetquot High School was originally constructed in 1962. Since
1998, McClave Engineering, P.C. , has been involved
in two additions to this school. The first was a 15,000 square foot,
12-classroom addition that was completed in 1999. The second is
an 86,000 square foot addition, which is currently under construction
with an anticipated completion date of September 2004.
In
the second addition, McClave Engineering P.C .
is responsible for upgrading the existing electrical service, fire
alarm, sanitary, and site lighting systems of the building. When
completed, three new mechanical rooms will have been constructed
and radiant heating will be used in the new Band Room and new Cafeteria.
Sixteen
classrooms with seven Special Education classrooms, two Gymnasiums
(totaling 8,200 square feet), with new Boy’s and Girl’s Locker Rooms,
a new Library, and new administration spaces will be constructed.
A new 1,200 square foot Kitchen will be added along with a 2,800
square foot Food Court .
In all,
nine new gang toilets are slated for constructed, while four existing
gang toilets will be renovated throughout the building. All the toilet
facilities will be upgraded to meet the current ADA regulations.
